Your new role
Parental Leave Cover, Part time Fixed Term 10 months 60 hours per fortnight or 4 days/week located in Wagga Wagga, NSW
Annual Salary between $101,622.03 to $106,078.98, pro rata plus Superannuation, NFP Salary Packaging, Paid Christmas closure and other generous leave provisions under our Enterprise Agreement.
This position is responsible for overseeing the supervised visits and changeovers of children with their separated parents or caregivers while overseeing the work of sessional CCS staff.
Duties:
- Provide initial screening, risk assessment and intake of clients and their needs (including meeting with children and safety planning) either via telephone or face‑to‑face contact;
- Deliver information to clients on a one-to‑one basis resulting in a child focused session plan;
- Complete comprehensive client assessments to ensure caregiver’s readiness and child voice is heard;
- Oversee, support and document caregiver/child relationships during supervised contact visits and changeovers;
- Facilitate age appropriate play, observation of interactions and the support of caregivers (along with casual staff);
What you’ll need to succeed
1. Tertiary qualification in psychology, social work, early childhood education, or related discipline and/or relevant experience.
2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to do therapeutic engagement with children and parents/carers.
3. Demonstrated mediation, conflict resolution, negotiation and advocacy skills to act on behalf of vulnerable clients and demonstrated ability to rapidly identify client needs, assess risk and prioritise accordingly.
4. Demonstrated knowledge of services available to children and their families as well as demonstrated networking and relationship building skills.
5. Demonstrated Knowledge of legislative requirements of mandatory reporting.
