INCLUDED IN WHAT YOU’LL DO:
* Lead the end-to-end credit function across Australia and New Zealand, overseeing credit risk, settlements, collections, and portfolio management.
* Drive the transformation and modernisation of the credit function, improving systems, automation, and operational efficiency.
* Review and enhance credit policies and frameworks to better support commercial outcomes and evolving business needs.
* Partner closely with Risk, Technology, Operations, and frontline business units to streamline processes from deal origination through to settlement.
* Lead major projects focused on straight-through processing, automation, and improving the customer and stakeholder experience.
* Review and approve complex credit submissions across a diverse range of customer segments including corporate, government, SME, novated leasing, and structured lending.
* Provide executive-level reporting, portfolio insights, and recommendations to leadership and board‑level stakeholders.
* Strengthen relationships across Melbourne, New Zealand, and Japan, with occasional interstate and international travel as required.
* Help shape the future leadership pipeline within the credit function by developing the next generation of talent.
WHAT YOU HAVE:
* Extensive senior leadership experience within credit risk, asset finance, commercial lending, or structured finance environments.
* Strong strategic capability with the ability to lead transformational change and modernise credit operations.
* Proven experience implementing or improving systems, automation, workflows, or operational processes within a credit environment.
* Deep understanding of asset finance, novated leasing, commercial lending structures, residual value risk, and portfolio analytics.
* Strong credit decisioning capability with experience operating at a high delegation authority level.
* Experience managing complex and diverse portfolios across both judgemental and scorecard-driven lending environments.
* Outstanding stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence executive leadership teams and offshore stakeholders.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate risk appetite and commercial decisions at executive and board level.
* Leadership capability focused on coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
* Exposure to collections, recoveries, provisioning, and broader credit lifecycle management.
* A broader commercial background across operations, risk, or business functions will be highly regarded.
* Experience working within smaller or more agile organisations, where adaptability and innovation are valued.
* Exposure to Japanese or international corporate environments will be highly advantageous.
