Surf Life Saving Western Australia (SLSWA) is the peak agency for coastal safety in WA. It is a not‐for‐profit organisation with more than 24,000 members at 31 clubs across Western Australia.
An opportunity is available at Surf Life Saving Western Australia (SLSWA) to join the team as our Financial Accountant.
We will be seeking an individual that can develop the role and be proactive in the continuous improvement of the accounting, reporting and internal control systems of SLSWA.
The accountant will work within the Corporate Services Department. This position is available at 0.6-1.0 FTE.
The key responsibilities of this position include:
* Maintaining compliant financial management systems, processes, and reporting structures
* Provision of accurate and timely monthly financial reporting, including variance analysis
* Preparation of annual budgets and forecasting
* Creation and processing of monthly journals, reconciliations (including bank reconciliations), and accruals
* Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules
* Statutory reporting (BAS, PAYG, Superannuation and FBT)
* Fortnightly payroll processing
* Coordinate and assist in the Audit process
* Assist Auditors with the preparation of year‐end financials
What do I need?
* Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
* Strong experience in preparation of financial management reports
* Proficient level of MS Office applications and ERP systems
* An understanding of working in a not‐for‐profit, including ACNC & AASB rules and regulations
* Some exposure to not‐for‐profit sector experience is required
* Ability to analyse data to assist with making informed business decisions
* Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience is required
PBI salary packaging benefits available up to $15,900 per annum + up to $2,650 for meals and entertainment.
