As a result of a secured engagement with one of our National Security partners, Helix requires a VMware Specialist to join us on a long-term contract.
The VMware Specialist will be responsible for helping design and deliver the VMware components of a large, multi-environment opportunity spanning across networks, cloud and on premises environments.
The VMware Specialist will have prior experience working with NSX, VMware suite, Cisco as a technical and solution architect with best-of-breed virtualisation and automation being a key requirement for all aspects of the capability.
VMware Specialist key responsibilities:
* Mapping and designing of complex VMware environments
* Contributing to the design and delivery of VMware technologies across multiple distinct environments.
* Helping to development automation for all aspects of a Software Defined Data Centre (SDDC).
* Working closely with other disciplines within the delivery team to ensure that the services and applications being deployed align to VMware best practices.
* Development of detailed design and operational artefacts supporting the delivery.
* NV1 clearance is a minimum requirement for this environment
VMware Specialist essential experience & capability:
* Demonstrable experience designing and deploying VMware technologies including Foundation and Horizon.
* Extensive experience with planning and executing migration pieces of work.
* Extensive experience working with the automation and orchestration components of the VMware suite to automate the SDDC.
* Experience working in a DevSecOps model to develop and promote code, with a strong emphasis on CI/CD methodologies.
VMware Specialist desirable experience:
* Prior experience within a defence environment
* Prior experience supporting VMware services at enterprise level beneficial.
* Experience running VMware on HPE/Dell infrastructure highly desirable.
* Familiarity with 3rd party automation tools including Terraform and Ansible.
