An opportunity is available for an experienced and motivated Senior Body Builder to join our team on a full-time basis at our Wangara depot.
About the Role
As a Senior Vehicle Body Builder you will be a key member of our workshop team, responsible for delivering high-quality vehicle body construction, modification, and repair work.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the construction and fit-out of new fleet vehicles and equipment
* Oversee the ongoing maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of the fleet
* Interpret, follow, modify, and create schematics for new builds and custom projects
* Take ownership of fleet build projects from concept through to completion
* Mentor and support apprentices, maintaining a ratio of one apprentice per tradesperson
* Assist in developing team capability, workshop standards, and best practices
* Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
* Identify and implement improvements to fleet reliability and workshop processes
* Maintain accurate records and documentation where required
* Promote and uphold a strong safety culture throughout the workshop
About You
* Fully qualified Vehicle Body Builder trade certification
* Extensive experience in vehicle body building and fleet construction
* Strong ability to read, interpret, modify, and develop schematics and technical drawings
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor apprentices and help shape a high-performing team
* Excellent problem-solving and fabrication skills
* High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
* Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* A proactive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement
* Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
