A leading NSW Government agency is seeking two experienced
Senior Research & Evaluation Analysts
to join its Research & Analysis team. These roles support major evaluation, research, and capability‑building initiatives aimed at improving outcomes for Aboriginal communities across NSW.

About the Roles You’ll join a small, expert team responsible for delivering high‑quality evaluation, research, monitoring and analysis to inform policy, service reform, and program delivery. Each role has a distinct focus area.
1. Senior Research & Evaluation Analyst – Quantitative Focus In this role, you will lead rigorous mixed‑methods evaluation projects with a strong emphasis on inferential statistics, logistic regression, and causal analysis. You’ll guide analytic decisions, validate evidence, and support end‑to‑end evaluation across key programs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead complex quantitative and mixed‑methods evaluation activities
Apply inferential statistics, regression modelling and causal analysis
Validate raw data and evidence for monitoring purposes
Review research proposals, evaluation designs, and analytic outputs
Develop program logics, evaluation frameworks, surveys and tools
Produce transparent, accessible insights for senior stakeholders
Contribute to continuous improvement of evaluation and data practices
2. Senior Evaluation & Research Analyst – Qualitative & Capability Building Focus This role leads the design and delivery of a new Evaluation Capability Building Program, strengthening evidence use across internal and external partners. You’ll work closely with a wide range of stakeholders and apply culturally responsive, participatory research methods.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement an Evaluation Capability Building framework
Build evaluation skills and evidence literacy across teams
Lead qualitative and participatory research and evaluation projects
Engage with Aboriginal communities and inter‑governmental working groups
Develop program logics, frameworks and data capture tools
Produce clear, plain‑English insights and communications
Champion best practice in culturally responsive evaluation
About You You will thrive in these roles if you are an experienced evaluator or research professional with a passion for evidence‑informed decision making and culturally respectful practice.
Essential Requirements (Both Roles)
5+ years experience in evaluation and applied social research
Strong mixed‑methods capability (quantitative and/or qualitative)
Experience working in culturally responsive ways
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
High attention to detail and ability to convey insights clearly
Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
Role‑Specific Requirements Quantitative Role
Advanced inferential statistics and logistic regression
Experience analysing causal relationships in evaluation
Strong monitoring and data validation experience
Qualitative / Capability Role
Evaluation Capacity Building (ECB) experience
Participatory or community‑led evaluation methods
Solid community engagement skills
