About ARDS Aboriginal Corporation

ARDS Aboriginal Corporation is a Yolŋu organisation specialising in cross-cultural communication, community development and creative media. ARDS has been working in Northeast Arnhem Land for nearly 50 years, putting Yolŋu languages, perspectives, skills and decision-making at the centre of its work.

ARDS aims to 'bridge the gap' between mainstream services and information, and the information and service delivery approaches that Yolŋu communities want and need.

About the Opportunity

Note: This position has the option to be based in either Darwin or Nhulunbuy

As the Staff Training and Development Lead, you will play a key role in building the capacity of ARDS' Yolŋu and Balanda staff across Northeast Arnhem Land. You will support new starters through their induction, helping them understand ARDS' systems, processes and expectations, while identifying their training needs and learning goals. You'll design and deliver tailored training programs that support work readiness, literacy, numeracy, digital skills, and professional development.

Working closely with ARDS Djägamirr (managers) and project leads, you'll help shape a culture of growth and learning, ensuring staff have access to the tools, resources and mentoring they need to succeed.

Whether you're based in Darwin or Nhulunbuy, this role will involve travelling to different communities in Northeast Arnhem Land where ARDS teams are based. It is a hands-on, people-focused role that will allow you to make a meaningful impact on the lives and careers of ARDS staff.

About You

You are someone who is passionate about supporting others to learn and grow. You have experience designing and delivering training or coaching programs, particularly for First Nations audiences, and you understand how to adapt your approach to suit different learning styles and levels of confidence. You're a skilled communicator and facilitator, able to build trust and convey complex ideas in simple, accessible ways.

You're proactive, organised and flexible, with a strong commitment to working respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal people. You're comfortable working in multilingual environments and are willing to learn Yolŋu Matha and its cultural context. You bring a collaborative spirit and a genuine interest in helping others succeed, whether through one-on-one mentoring or group workshops.

About the Benefits

This is an exciting role that includes:

* Base salary SCHADS 6 – $108,654 per annum + Super
* Salary packaging
