Special Education Teacher
Erina High School is a comprehensive public school that supports students to maximize their potential. The school has a Special Education Unit with three multi-categorical classes and a staff allocation of 70, including 58 teaching and 12 non-teaching support staff.
The school has strong links with our partner primary schools. Teaching and learning is the core business of the school, with teacher quality and continuous improvement in teaching practice being key priority areas.
Participation in professional learning and the use of evaluative practices are key focuses of the current Strategic Improvement Plan. Building a school culture of excellence through setting high expectations in learning, attendance, behavior, and uniform is also a key priority.
The school has a strong relationship with the local Aboriginal community and is working in partnership to deepen understanding of Aboriginal history and culture for all students.
Key selection criteria include approval and/or willingness to teach Autism, Emotional Disturbances, and Mild Intellectual Disability. Demonstrated ability to design and implement high-quality teaching and learning programs, as well as effective classroom and individualized behaviour management strategies, are also essential.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. Applicants must also include details of their WWCC clearance number as part of the application.
