The Opportunity
We're looking for a Safety Advisor to support the delivery of safe, compliant, and practical work environments across our national network. Reporting to the People & Safety Manager, you'll play a key role in embedding health and safety into everyday operations, with a strong focus on our warehouse and equipment servicing teams.
You'll partner closely with internal teams and external contractors to identify, manage, and reduce risk, ensuring safety is not just a requirement, but part of how we work. This is a hands‐on role suited to someone who thrives on the ground, enjoys building relationships, and can balance compliance with practical outcomes in a fast‐paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Safety Advisory: Provide expert health and safety advice and support to ensure effective WHS practices across the business.
* Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement initiatives to monitor and improve safety performance.
* Incident Management: Review incidents and hazards, and support investigations to drive learning and prevention.
* Compliance & Systems: Maintain WHS records, policies, and procedures in line with legislation and best practice.
* Contractor Management: Oversee contractor onboarding, review SWMS and safety documentation, and ensure ongoing compliance.
* Site Inspections: Conduct regular site visits to identify risks and verify controls.
* Training & Engagement: Deliver safety training and education to staff, supervisors, and managers.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong relationships to influence positive safety behaviours and outcomes.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Minimum 3+ years' experience in a WHS role.
* Experience working in warehouse, logistics, equipment, or operational environments.
* Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and safety management systems.
* Proven ability to provide practical safety advice and drive positive outcomes.
* Experience delivering training, initiatives, and continuous improvement programmes.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‐paced environment.
* High attention to detail, organisation, and problem‐solving capability.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with HRIS/safety systems.
* Diploma or higher qualification in Work Health & Safety (or related discipline).
