The Role

The Team Leader-Settlement Support provides day-to-day leadership, coaching and operational oversight for the Settlement Support Team. This role balances hands‐on file handling with responsibility for team performance, workflow allocation, capability development and service excellence. The Team Leader ensures that all settlements, lodgements and post settlement activities are delivered accurately, efficiently and in line with service level expectations, while maintaining the high‐quality client experience that SettleIT is known for.

You are a service‐driven leader who takes pride in delivering exceptional outcomes for clients, even in complex situations. With a natural ability to coach and develop others, you build capability, confidence, and performance through clear guidance and ongoing support. You form strong, trusted relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, and your team, enabling seamless collaboration and high levels of service.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

* Lead daily operations by allocating workloads, monitoring capacity, and ensuring settlements and lodgements are completed accurately and on time
* Manage team performance against KPIs, service levels, and client expectations, acting as the escalation point for complex matters
* Oversee shared inboxes and workflows to ensure all communications are actioned, prioritised, and cleared daily
* Drive process improvement, ensuring consistent adherence to procedures while enhancing efficiency and scalability
* Provide hands‐on leadership through coaching, performance management, training, and development of File Handlers
* Maintain a reduced file load, managing complex or high‐risk matters while delivering high‐quality client outcomes

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

* Strong understanding of the conveyancing process, including PEXA/Sympli
* Demonstrated experience in a senior, mentoring or leadership capacity within a conveyancing, legal operations or similar environment
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Excellent presentation, phone manner and communication skills)
* Proven ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and support others to do the same
* Experience delivering high volume, deadline driven work with accuracy and professionalism
