The Team:
Digital Health: The Bluegum Digital Health Transformation Program team is responsible for delivering the Digital Health Transformation Strategy, a 10-year program aimed at transforming the state’s health system into a world-class, innovative, and integrated system. This system is designed to empower consumers and enable healthcare professionals to deliver better patient outcomes through system-wide, digitally enabled technologies.
The program, including the implementation of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, is essential for the efficient delivery of frontline health services into the future. It aims to significantly enhance healthcare for all people in Tasmania by creating a more connected and accessible health system, ensuring timely and appropriate care for all Tasmanians, ultimately improving health outcomes across the state.
The Role:
The Senior ICT Architect drives the design, development, and implementation of strategic solutions for the Department’s Bluegum Digital Health Transformation Program, ensuring success over the next decade.
This role involves guiding cross-functional teams, providing expert technical leadership, and ensuring solutions align with the Department’s frameworks, federal health standards, and long-term requirements. The Senior ICT Architect develops target architectures and roadmaps, manages system interactions across states, and assesses risks for seamless execution.
Collaborating with the Head of Architecture, Health ICT teams, and vendors, the Senior ICT Architect ensures solutions are fit-for-purpose and align with the Department’s objectives.
You will need:
* Demonstrated specialist knowledge and extensive expertise in delivering architecture services for ICT solutions within large and diverse environments.
* High-level experience in managing human, financial, and physical resources, with proven leadership, guidance, and team management skills.
* Strategic, analytical, and creative skills with sound judgment, capable of delivering solutions and driving action in dynamic, high-pressure environments.
* Highly developed leadership and communication skills, with the ability to provide strategic and ICT architecture advice and direction.

Details of appointment:
Multiple permanent, full-time day positions, working 76 hours per fortnight, starting as soon as possible.
Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. The selection process may be used to fill similar vacancies for up to twelve months from the date of publication.
Salary:
$170,409 to $188,400 per annum, plus an employer superannuation contribution of 11.5%.
Salary is in accordance with the Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

* Tertiary Qualifications in systems, technical, or solution architecture.
Desirable criteria include:
* Appropriate tertiary qualifications in ICT or related discipline.
* Relevant technical certifications.
