Devonport City Council is seeking a skilled and innovative Power Platform Specialist to lead the development of business automation, AI‐driven solutions, and digital transformation initiatives across Council.

Working within the Information Technology team and reporting to the Strategic Innovation and Data Lead, you will play a key role in designing and delivering smart digital solutions that support Council's strategic goals.
About the Role
The Power Platform Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business automation and AI‐powered solutions using Microsoft Power Platform technologies including Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, AI Builder, and Copilot Studio. The role also supports Council's digital engagement platforms through WordPress plugin development, API integrations, Gravity Forms management, and AI‐enhanced customer service solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Microsoft Power Platform & AI Development
* Develop and maintain Power Automate workflows to streamline and automate business processes
* Design and build Canvas and Model‐Driven Power Apps to improve internal operations
* Implement AI‐powered solutions using AI Builder, Copilot Studio, chatbots, and intelligent automation
* Develop custom connectors and API integrations across Council systems
* Manage and structure data within Dataverse, SharePoint, SQL, and external platforms
* Apply governance, compliance, and security best practices including RBAC and audit monitoring
WordPress, Integrations & Digital Services
* Develop and maintain WordPress plugins and integrations
* Design and support Gravity Forms for public and internal workflows
* Integrate WordPress with Power Platform, SharePoint, and third‐party systems
* Implement AI‐powered customer engagement tools and analytics
* Support website content management and digital service improvements
* Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Power Platform and WordPress users
* Deliver training and guidance to internal stakeholders
* Maintain clear documentation and user guides
* Work collaboratively across departments to identify opportunities for automation and digital improvement
* Contribute positively to team outcomes and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
* Strong experience with Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate
* Experience implementing AI‐driven automation solutions including Copilot Studio, AI Builder, and chatbots
* Knowledge of APIs, SharePoint, Dataverse, and Gravity Forms integrations
* Excellent analytical and problem‐solving skills
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
* A proactive and innovative approach to digital transformation
* Experience in Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate
* Proficiency in AI‐driven automation technologies
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* National Police Check
* Experience with Power Platform governance and security frameworks
* Experience integrating APIs, SharePoint, Dataverse, and Gravity Forms
* Familiarity with machine learning and AI‐driven analyticsKnowledge of AI‐assisted content generation tools for WordPress
* Experience working within local government or the public sector
