Overview of the Job:
The Australian Red Cross Lifeblood is seeking a qualified and experienced Registered Nurse to join their team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our organization by delivering exceptional patient care and services.
Responsibilities:
* Greet and interview potential donors to assess their eligibility and suitability for donation.
* Provide clinical oversight and guidance to other team members in the blood collection process.
* Conduct routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests to ensure donor safety.
* Set up and operate machines and equipment for blood collection.
* Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets.
* Manage adverse donor reactions by providing instructions and physical assistance.
* Monitor donors post-donation and assist them with rebooking for future donations.
Requirements:
* Occasional lifting of heavy objects (up to 20kg).
* Frequent standing, walking, and bending to set up and pack down equipment.
* Hold a current AHPRA registration and have completed a Bachelor of Nursing degree (or equivalent).
* Be flexible to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster from Monday to Sunday, including weekends and afternoon shifts.
