About the role
Aurenne Mining is seeking a dedicated Medical Emergency Service Officer (MESO) to join our team at the Mt Ida Gold Mine. This is a pivotal position on an 8:6 FIFO roster, offering a rewarding opportunity to contribute to site safety within a supportive, close-knit team.
Reporting to the OHS Superintendent, you will provide the highest possible standard of emergency response and pre-hospital care, adhering to treatment procedures, accurately completing documentation and applying the correct operational procedure in response to the situation presented to you. Additionally, you will support the Safety Superintendent with various tasks across the health and safety management on site.
Key Tasks
* Provision medical treatment as defined by treatment protocols and maintain confidential medical records
* Maintain the site's medical clinic facilities, vehicles and equipment
* Equipment preparedness including inspections and reports
* Provide 24/7 on call support in the case of after hours emergencies
* Conduct regular inspections on the site medical facilities, ensuring they are stocked and well maintained
* Support emergency response team where relevant
* Support the management of poison permit and liaison with external emergency authorities
* Assist with approval of pre-employment medicals
* Supporting injury management and workers compensation case management
* Update and implement Emergency Evacuation Plans for each area of the site (as required)
* Facilitate emergency evacuation drills for the site as per the schedule
* Co-ordinate site mock emergencies
Requirements & Qualifications
* Minimum 3 years in a similar role in Mining
* Cert IV Health Care or higher
* Cert III in Emergency Response and Rescue
* Cert IV TAE – Desirable
* Advance Life Support – Or willing to obtain
* Current \"C\" manual or \"HR-B\" Western Australian Licence
* Strong leadership skills with a proactive attitude and commitment to safety
* Ability to cannulate a patient
