Based in Melbourne, with a national footprint, we deliver reliable, high-performance support across food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, logistics, and other critical sectors. Our technicians are embedded in fast-paced, high-tech environments where uptime is everything — and your skills make the difference.
Automation Technicians, this is your chance to set the standard in maintaining advanced technology and high speed systems at a leading FMCG production facility in Melbourne's East.
This is a site-based role at a leading FMCG facility, working with high-speed, high-tech equipment. You'll be part of a tight-knit team that values collaboration, precision, and pride in keeping production moving.
We're not just about fixing problems — we're about preventing them. If you thrive in a hands-on role where diagnostics, responsiveness, and teamwork are key, this is your opportunity to make a real impact.
The Opportunity
As an Afternoon Shift Maintenance Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining and supporting high-speed production equipment at a customer site. You'll work closely with site teams to ensure equipment reliability, troubleshoot faults, and carry out preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.
This is a critical role in a high-output environment, where your technical expertise and calm under pressure will help keep operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform routine and reactive maintenance on electrical and automation systems
* Diagnose faults and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley)
* Respond to breakdowns and minimise production disruption
* Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections on high-speed equipment
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and fault resolutions
* Ensure compliance with WHS and Australian Standards
* Collaborate with site operators, engineers, and other technicians to resolve issues and share knowledge
* Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring faults and recommending solutions
About You
You're a hands-on technician with a sharp eye for detail and a proactive approach to maintenance. You're confident working independently during afternoon shifts, but thrive in a team that backs each other up and shares knowledge freely.
* A-Grade electrical licence
* Experience in FMCG or high-speed manufacturing environments
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across PLC/HMI/SCADA systems
* Familiarity with industrial communications (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profibus)
* Commitment to safety, compliance, and documentation
* Comfortable working on-site and responding to live production issues
* Valid Australian work rights
This role suits someone who takes pride in keeping things running — not just fixing what's broken, but preventing issues before they arise.
