Position Responsibilities
* Develop and document strategies to ensure compliance with dangerous goods (DG) regulations, including ADG, ICAO/IATA, IMO/IMDG and others.
* Perform product DG classification and maintain data.
* Lead the regional program to ensure DG systems and related data are complete and accurate.
* Act as the primary interface with regulatory agencies.
* Conduct information exchanges to partner with operations, sales and procurement to improve related processes.
* Evaluate new technologies and processes to develop strategies and tactics for minimizing risk.
* Develop and deliver training and communications, identify target audience and track training records to support regulatory and business requirements.
* Support vendor, contractor and supplier activities for EH&S DG compliance for site processes and program goals.
* Evaluate impact of new regulations on company operations.
* Work across departments to standardize work, processes, training, tools and systems.
* Work directly with regulatory agencies to submit permit approvals and request interpretations.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 7 years' experience in dangerous goods, regulations and assessments, preferably in aviation.
* Experience as a lead contact with regulatory agencies related to incident investigation and regulatory interpretations.
* Current DG certifications with a professional accreditation or ability to obtain within one to three months.
* Ability to work independently, be self‐motivated, and effectively work within teams to achieve common goals.
* Team player with the ability to build solid working relationships with multiple stakeholders.
* Fluent English language skills (both verbally and written); other language skills are a plus.
* Applicants must be Australian citizens to meet defence security requirements and have the ability to obtain a Security Clearance.
