Are you an experienced Nurse, Psychologist, Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist looking for a specialist mental health leadership role? Join the Forensic CYMHS (Child and Youth Mental Health Service) within Children's Health Queensland, delivering evidence-based assessment and treatment to young people with mental health issues and significant behavioural disturbance that have resulted/or place them at elevated risk of involvement with the criminal justice system.

About the Team

The Forensic Child and Youth Mental Health Service is a specialist Program within the Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service. It is part of the broader Queensland Forensic Mental Health Service. Forensic CYMHS provides assessment and treatment services to young people with mental health issues and significant behavioural disturbance that have resulted/or place them at elevated risk of involvement with the criminal justice system.

Forensic CYMHS works within a collaborative partnership model with other community service providers, including other health care providers, education, child safety, police, courts, youth detention centres and youth justice services. A range of individual, family, and group-based assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation programs are offered, with the aim to promote recovery in young people with mental health needs and offending behaviours, increase community safety and reduce the risk of offending. About the Role

* Advanced Clinical Practice: Deliver high-level specialist mental health services and professional expertise to optimise psycho-social outcomes for young consumers.
* Forensic & Court Responsibilities: Be accountable for completing Fitness and Soundness reports for court. This requires proficient report writing and the ability to provide verbal feedback and evidence in the courtroom.
* Leadership & Autonomy: Function with an advanced level of autonomous clinical and professional practice and exercise specialist decision-making in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
* Collaborative Service: Work closely with key partners, including Youth Justice, Police, Courts, Youth Detention Centres, Child Safety, and other health providers.
* Diverse Settings: Services are provided across a variety of settings, including Watchhouses, Youth Detention Centres, and Community Service Centres.
* Service Area: The position services a large region of Queensland, from south of Rockhampton to the NSW, NT, and SA borders. Regular travel, including overnight stays, is required.
