About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail‐oriented Junior to Mid‐Level Peptide Chemist to join our growing peptide development and manufacturing team. This role is ideal for a scientist with hands‐on experience in peptide synthesis and analytical instrumentation who is looking to expand their expertise within a high-performance R&D and production environment.
The successful candidate will work across both automated and manual peptide synthesis workflows, analytical testing, purification support, and quality‐focused laboratory operations. The position offers exposure to advanced peptide manufacturing processes, LC‐MS analysis, method development, and GMP‐aligned laboratory systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform solid‐phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) using both automated synthesizers and manual techniques
* Prepare, cleave, precipitate, and lyophilise peptide products
* Operate and maintain LC‐MS instrumentation for peptide identity confirmation and purity assessment
* Assist with analytical method development and optimisation
* Support peptide purification workflows including flash chromatography and preparative purification
* Prepare reagents, solvents, buffers, and synthesis consumables
* Maintain accurate laboratory records and batch documentation
* Assist with troubleshooting synthesis and analytical issues
* Contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory workflows and SOPs
* Work within quality‐controlled and potentially GMP‐aligned laboratory environments
Essential Requirements
* Minimum Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Biotechnology, or related discipline
* Practical experience with peptide synthesis (academic, industrial, or research laboratory)
* Experience operating LC‐MS systems and interpreting analytical data
* Familiarity with HPLC or flash chromatography systems
* Understanding of peptide chemistry principles and amino acid protection strategies
* Strong attention to detail and documentation practices
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a scientific team
Desirable Skills
* Experience with automated peptide synthesizers (e.g. Biotage, CEM, Liberty, AAPPTec or similar)
* Experience working in regulated, GMP, GLP, or ISO‐aligned environments
* Familiarity with peptide purification and lyophilisation workflows
* Experience with analytical software platforms (e.g. LabSolutions, MassLynx, Xcalibur, OpenLab)
* Understanding of peptide stability, degradation, and impurity analysis
* Basic scripting or data analysis capability (Python, R, MATLAB, or similar) advantageous
