About The Opportunity
Bundaberg Regional Council is seeking a multi-skilled Plant Operator to join the Civil team at Kalkie Depot, delivering road construction, maintenance and infrastructure works across the Bundaberg Region.
In this role, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
* Operate selected units in Council's Plant Fleet and program plant hire.
* Perform construction, maintenance and repair activities as part of a multi-disciplined Civil team.
* Maintain a safe work environment while operating mobile plant.
* Perform works involving underground utilities.
* Work on roads in proximity to live traffic.
* Undertake manual handling, labouring, lifting as part of a multi-skilled crew.
* Ensure job sites and operations are being performed in line with Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
* Complete daily plant documentation and relevant operational paperwork.
* Assist with after-hours emergency and response work when required.
* Undertake additional duties during staff absences to support operational continuity.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following key selection criteria:
* Minimum HR Driver Licence.
* Demonstrated experience in the operation of mobile civil plant with competency evidence for relevant plant items.
* Demonstrated sound-level experience in civil construction and maintenance.
* Demonstrated high-level ability to work within a team to ensure outcomes are achieved.
* Possession of a current White Card.
* Completion of Working in Proximity to Traffic (Awareness Parts 1 & 2) training.
* Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with internal and external parties.
Desired (advantage):
* Various plant experience including but not limited to: Backhoe Loader, Skid Steer Loader, Tractor, Static & Vibrating Roller, Heavy Rigid Truck & Trailer, Excavator and Grader.
* Sound experience in signage set-out on public roads (TMI would be an advantage).
* Tickets advantageous: EWP, Confined Space Entry, Scaffold experience + High Risk Work Licence, Automatic Laser Level or Machine Control.
