Role Overview
The Child & Family Health Nurse provides high‑quality, evidence‑based care to children aged 0–6 years and their families, supporting healthy growth and development within a primary health care model. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care in accordance with national competency standards and local policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct NSW Health child growth and development assessments and maternal psychosocial assessments to identify family strengths and needs.
- Provide health promotion, early childhood intervention, parenting support, and coordinate referrals and follow‑up care.
- Collaborate with early childhood educators, schools, general practitioners and community partners.
- Deliver holistic nursing care in accordance with ANMC, ACM guidelines and NSW Health policies.
- Support care coordination with multidisciplinary and multiagency teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Child & Family Health Nursing.
- Strong assessment, communication and coordination skills.
- Experience working in a primary health care setting and with diverse communities.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use health information systems.
- Current unrestricted NSW driver’s licence.
