Upspec Steel Buildings has been helping property and business owners across Sydney Metro put up tough, reliable steel structures since 2016. Based in Penrith, we manage the full process from design and council approvals through to construction, using Australian-made materials and an experienced in-house team.
About the Role
We're after an experienced MR truck driver who can also run plant. Our current driver is moving on and we need someone reliable to step into a role that's a bit of everything.
Most days you'll be behind the wheel of our MR crane truck delivering steel and materials to sites across Sydney, lifting loads into position with the truck crane, and running our small tipper for site clean-ups and smaller deliveries. When you're not on the truck, you'll operate our excavator or bobcat for site prep, or pitch in at the factory and on site with the construction crew when an extra set of hands is needed.
It's a full-time, hands-on role with consistent work, monthly RDOs, and genuine variety. No two days look the same.
Key Responsibilities
* Driving our MR crane truck to deliver steel, materials, and machinery to sites.
* Operating the truck crane to lift and place loads on site.
* Driving the tipper for deliveries and site clean-ups.
* Operating our excavator and bobcat for site preparation, levelling, trenching, and earthworks.
* Loading and unloading materials at the yard and on site.
* General factory work and on-site labouring when the team needs support.
* Following WHS requirements and keeping a safe work environment.
What You'll Need
* MR truck licence with clean record (essential)
* White Card (essential)
* Solid experience driving an MR crane truck and operating the crane (essential).
* Experience operating excavators and bobcats (highly regarded).
* Construction or steel building site experience (highly regarded).
* Strong work ethic, reliable, and able to work unsupervised.
* Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on work.
* Reliable transport to our Penrith yard.
* Good team player who can muck in when needed.

Job Details
Job Types: Full time, Permanent. Pay: $32.00 – $38.00 per hour. Expected hours: 40 per week.
* Truck driving experience: 1 year (required).
Licence/Certification
* White Card (required).
* MR Licence (required).
