About You
For new graduate midwives applying- to be eligible to apply for the for this position at Liverpool Hospital, applicants must:
- Be completing their Midstart program Graduate Diploma of Midwifery.PRIOR (final results received) to January 31st 2026.
- Be eligible for registration as a Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia prior to the agreed date for the commencement of employment (no later than 1st March 2026).
About The Opportunity
Current student midwives seeking new graduate midwifery positions will be required to attend 5 transitional midwifery education days as a mandatory component of their transition to practice program.
The Program will offer four rotations including Birthing Unit, Antenatal Clinic, Postnatal, Antenatal & Gynaecology and Day Assessment Unit. Possible rotations include: Midwifery Support Program, Fetal Medicine Unit, EPAS and NICU.
These are full time permanent and part time positions that will commence from February 2026.

What you'll be doing
The midwife is a responsible and accountable professional who works in partnership with women to give the necessary support, care and advice during pregnancy, labour and the postpartum period, to conduct births on the midwife's own responsibility and to provide care for the newborn and the infant.
This position may entail rotating through various clinical areas such as, Birthing Unit, Post/Antenatal Ward, Special Care Nursery and Antenatal Clinic.

The hospital features 23 operating theatres and has a capacity for 877 beds.
