About the Job:
We have an chance for an experienced Finance and Commercial Manager to join the team. A pivotal leader within the organisation playing a central role in driving excellence across the finance team. In this leadership role you will be responsible for financial management, reporting, governance, audit and risk compliance, and seamless internal operations. You will partner with the CFO and Finance Planning & Analysis Manager, providing guidance on budgetary control and strategic decisions. You will support sales efforts and optimise commercial outcomes.
As a Finance and Commercial Manager at OET you will:
- Lead financial operations including financial management, financial reporting and monitoring of performance against budget, providing variance analysis to identify areas of improvement.
- Work closely with the Finance Planning & Analysis Manager on budgeting, forecasting, and development of realistic financial plans and business cases with business leaders.
- Provide financial and commercial insight to support decision making, including analysis and business modelling of contract agreements.
- Prepare board reporting, papers and presentations.
- Play an integral role in sales efforts around global deal management and commercial opportunities, working with the GM – Growth & Partnerships and GM – Enterprise Insights and Major Projects.
- Provide financial expertise and advice with the CFO to support projects and programs within the organisation's transformation.
- Identify opportunities to drive purchasing efficiency and support supplier management.
- Analyse delivery costs and overheads to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Support the conduct of internal and external audits.
- Manage treasury, forex management and banking facilities, and oversee payroll function.
- Develop appropriate financial policies, procedures and an accounting manual.
- Ensure general accounting practices and internal controls are followed.
- Ensure finance systems are managed optimally, including delivery of key business systems integrations as part of technology transformation; support development and enhancement of financial systems to drive efficiency and insightful reporting.
- Develop and coach a high-performing finance team, providing guidance, training and mentoring for professional growth.
What you bring to OET:
- Bachelor or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
- Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years demonstrated experience as a Senior Finance Manager or Financial Controller, providing financial leadership and high-level financial accounting functions.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting financial analysis for driving commercial outcomes
- Experience in cashflow management, treasury and forex hedging
- Ability to write clear and concise reports appropriate for the audience
- People leadership experience and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
- Experience developing value-adding financial systems and/or processes; experience with system integration to deliver processing efficiencies
- Knowledge of Workday Financials, Workday Adaptive, Shopify, Stripe and ADP desirable but not essential
- Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projects
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Effective facilitation, collaboration, negotiation, presentation and engagement capability
- Competence in the use of Microsoft Office and relevant accounting software; Workday ERP highly regarded
- Extensive experience with finance operations for mainly B2C worldwide e-commerce, expanding to commercial support for B2B opportunities
