About the Opportunity
Apprenticeship Support Australia (ASA) are seeking an experienced mentor to join the team as a Mentor Support Officer. As a Mentor Support Officer, you will play a pivotal role in providing vital mentoring and support services to ASA clients. Your primary objective will be to facilitate apprenticeship completions by addressing industry, workplace, and personal issues, ensuring early identification and mitigation of challenges that may arise during the training process. The role is a full time, permanent opportunity located in Bunbury.
Key Responsibilities
* Conducting risk assessments with clients to identify any potential barriers to completion.
* Deliver in-person, phone and online mentoring support to clients, offering ongoing support and assistance throughout their training contract.
* Develop and maintain Tailored Support Plans (TSPs).
* Maintain regular contact with apprentices throughout their training contract, especially at key check‐in points, to ensure they have a seamless training experience.
* Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of databases and TSPs, adhering to compliance requirements.
* Deliver information sessions at schools and community events to support and promote the value of apprenticeships, traineeships and the benefits of mentoring support.
About You
To be a successful mentor you will have the following skills and experience:
* Knowledge and awareness of issues and potential barriers to completion of Apprenticeships.
* A minimum of 12 months relevant experience working with young people or proven relevant experience.
* Must be able to provide Apprentices with sound guidance in drawing from life experience, workplace knowledge, values and academic achievement.
* Proactive in maintaining contact with apprentices and motivated to achieve service KPIs, ensuring a positive training experience.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to promote Australian Apprenticeships to prospective clients and represent ASA at events.
* Understanding/knowledge of apprenticeships and traineeships.
* Current, unrestricted Driver's Licence. A tool of trade vehicle is provided with this role (essential).
* National Police Clearance & Working with Children Check (essential).
