About the role
We are seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to join our Transport Delivery team in South Brisbane on a full-time basis. With an exciting pipeline of major infrastructure projects, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality bridge and transport infrastructure design outcomes.
In this role, you will support the delivery of a diverse range of infrastructure projects, contributing to the design of bridges and associated structures. You will apply your technical expertise across design activities, ensuring outputs meet relevant standards, client requirements, and project specifications.
Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including civil and geotechnical specialists, you will collaborate to develop practical and compliant design solutions. You will also assist in maintaining project quality, timelines, and commercial objectives through effective technical delivery.

Day to day tasks
* Develop design concepts and carry out detailed design of simple and complex bridges, underpasses, retaining walls, sign gantries, and other infrastructure structures.
* Plan and carry out site inspections of structures when required.
* Perform advanced designs and analyses including finite element and soil‑structure interaction analysis.
* Prepare design documentation, technical reports, and client specifications.
* Manage interface with civil, hydraulic, and geotechnical disciplines and incorporate their interdisciplinary input within the structural design envelope.
To be successful for this role you’ll need
* Tertiary qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering.
* Demonstrated 5‑10 years’ experience in bridge design/engineering as well as other structural design projects, including transport infrastructure, temporary works, etc.
* RPEQ registration or actively pursuing it within 12 months of joining Stantec.
* Familiarity with local authority and state government approval and regulatory requirements.
* Growing understanding of commercial concepts (financial, legal).
* Thorough knowledge of relevant local standards, legislation, and Australian Standards.
