Artistic Cultures Specialist
The role of the Artistic Cultures Specialist involves promoting and advancing Noongar arts practice in the Southwest region. This includes supporting local artists to develop their skills, collaborating with galleries staff to deliver workshops and programmes, identifying funding opportunities, facilitating artist-in-residence programmes, and planning exhibitions showcasing Indigenous culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Developing Artist Skills: Provide guidance, mentorship and support to Noongar artists from the Southwest region to enhance their artistic abilities.
* Collaborative Programmes: Work closely with galleries staff to plan, implement and evaluate art-making, business development and professional training programs for programme participants.
* Funding Opportunities: Research, identify and apply for funding opportunities that support the advancement of Noongar arts and cultural practices in the Southwest region.
* Artist-in-Residence Program: Facilitate the Noongar artist-in-residence program at the gallery ensuring a seamless integration into the overall program.
* Exhibition Planning: Assist in planning and delivering exhibitions showcasing the richness of Noongar culture, working closely with the exhibition team.
