Manager | Forensic Data Analytics (Sydney or Melbourne)

Full-time

About the Team Our Forensic team assists clients in detecting and responding to fraud, bribery, corruption, money laundering, misconduct, and other financial crime issues, as well as resolving commercial disputes. We help clients protect their businesses by identifying discrepancies in facts and figures, non-compliant behaviours, and advising on legal and regulatory requirements. Applying forensic techniques, investigation, intelligence, technology, and industry expertise, we help prevent and resolve commercial disputes, fraud, misconduct, and regulatory breaches.

Your Opportunity: As a Forensic Data Analytics Manager specialising in wage compliance, you will play a pivotal role in helping our clients identify and remediate breaches against an employer's Enterprise Agreement, Modern Award, National Employment Standards or jurisdictional based long service leave legislation.

We're looking for passionate data analysts driven by purpose and precision to make a real difference in people's lives. Wage compliance isn't just about numbers, it's about making sure every worker receives their fair entitlements. You will be leveraging your experience in business analysis, data investigation, and analytic skills to identify, investigate, quantify, and report on wage underpayment matters.

Working with a diverse team of data analysts and subject matter specialists, your work will help uncover discrepancies, support ethical business practices, and uphold the rights of workers across Australia.

Responsibilities

* Manage the technical design and development of analysis models (SQL or Excel) to identify and quantify wage compliance risks.
* Work with subject matter specialists to understand business requirements, resolve ambiguous inputs and identify relevant data sources.
* Collaborate with clients to identify the root causes of wage compliance issues and establish remediation plans.
* Review data quality and determine impacted cohorts.
* Conduct testing, analyse root causes and assess potential fixes.
* Document findings and prepare working papers and reports to support analysis outcomes.
* Support proposal development and contribute to broader business development activities.
* Assist in developing internal data analytics assets and tools.
* Provide coaching and mentorship to team members.

Experience

* Experience analysing large and complex payroll and time‐and‐attendance datasets to identify and quantify wage compliance issues.
* Minimum of four years' experience developing SQL, Alteryx or Excel‐based data models.
* Proven track record in leading small teams of data analysts, including task allocation, guidance and quality review.
* Skilled in translating complex business and legal requirements into clear technical specifications, and preparing written reports or methodologies for presentation to regulators and legal representatives.
* Strong project management capability with the ability to manage competing priorities and timelines.
* Background in professional services is preferred.

Qualifications

* Desired tertiary qualifications in a combination of business disciplines (e.g., finance, accounting, law) and technical disciplines (e.g., engineering, IT, computing).

Diverse candidates have diverse needs. During your recruitment journey, information will be provided about adjustment requests. If you require additional support before submitting your application, please contact the Talent Attraction Support Team.
