About the role

This is a specialist Employee & Industrial Relations legal role with a strong focus on wage compliance, enterprise agreements (EBAs), and award interpretation.

You'll play a key role in advising the business on complex IR matters, particularly regarding pay compliance, industrial instruments, and risk mitigation. The work is hands‐on and meaningful, partnering closely with HR, payroll and operational stakeholders to ensure the correct and consistent application of EBAs and awards across a large, operational workforce.

Key responsibilities
* Provide legal advice on employment and industrial relations matters, on wage compliance
* Interpret and apply enterprise agreements (EBAs), modern awards and other industrial instruments in a practical, business‐focused way
* Advise on pay‐related obligations, risk and remediation considerations
* Identify and manage compliance risks, particularly across payroll and industrial instruments
* Support the resolution of IR issues and disputes, providing clear and pragmatic advice
* Contribute to improving frameworks, processes and governance to strengthen wage compliance across the business
About you

You're an IR lawyer who enjoys the technical side of employment law and has a genuine interest in wage compliance and industrial instruments.

* Admitted lawyer in Australia with experience in employment / industrial relations law
* Proven experience interpreting EBAs, awards and industrial instruments
* Strong background in wage compliance
* Comfortable working in a highly operational environment
* Able to provide clear, pragmatic and commercially sound advice to various internal and external stakeholders
* Detail‐focused, analytical and motivated by getting complex IR and wage compliance issues right
