Spatial Services, a division of the Department of Customer Service, is the key provider of spatial land information services in New South Wales. The integrated framework connects the people of NSW to a comprehensive package of land and property services, including property information, surveying, and mapping. Spatial Services provides land information services to individuals, businesses, government agencies and non-profit organisations throughout NSW, Australia and internationally.
Role Overview
As a Geodetic Surveyor in the Regulatory Compliance team, you will be responsible for the collection, processing and integration of survey control data from external customers. You will support statutory compliance and approval in accordance with relevant surveying legislation for the preservation of survey infrastructure (POSI), as part of the statutory functions of the Surveyor-General.
You will engage with users of survey infrastructure to provide expert technical and policy advice on matters related to survey control design, observation methodologies, processing techniques, POSI and cadastral boundary surveys. This role is primarily office-based with minimal field work.
The Ideal Candidate
A proven ability to manage the flow of survey data from external customers while providing customer-focused advice and responses to ensure prompt resolution of issues
Demonstrated experience as a surveyor, with knowledge of geodetic and cadastral surveying, and an understanding of current positioning technologies
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to represent OSG at industry forums and events
Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in response to evolving environments and priorities
The ability to solve problems and collaborate with others toward a common vision
The ability to implement and monitor compliance with Work Health and Safety policy and practices
