Senior Lecturer (National Program Coordinator Midwifery) – Fremantle Campus – Full-time opportunity, Continuing Contract
About the role
You will provide leadership in national curriculum design, review and evaluation, ensuring accreditation readiness and effective program governance. Oversee program coordination teams, promote excellence in student experience, progression and graduate outcomes, and foster a collaborative, high performing academic culture across campuses.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery program across all campuses, ensuring a nationally consistent and high quality student experience.
* Lead curriculum design, review and innovation to ensure alignment with professional standards, accreditation requirements and contemporary midwifery practice.
* Drive continuous improvement through the analysis of student outcomes, program performance data, stakeholder feedback and external benchmarking.
* Lead national accreditation and regulatory compliance activities, including ANMAC accreditation, reporting and quality assurance requirements.
* Provide leadership, mentorship and capability development for Program Coordinators and academic staff, fostering excellence in teaching, assessment and curriculum delivery.
* Champion innovative and evidence informed learning and teaching practices that enhance student engagement, success and graduate readiness.
* Monitor student progression, retention and completion outcomes, implementing strategies that support student achievement and wellbeing.
* Build and maintain strong partnerships with industry, accreditation bodies, clinical placement providers and key internal stakeholders.
* Represent the midwifery program in internal and external forums, contributing to strategic planning, program growth and sector engagement.
* Foster a collaborative, inclusive and high performing academic culture that reflects professional, ethical and university values.
Qualifications, skills & experience
* Advanced qualifications and/or recognised significant experience in the relevant discipline area.
* Possession of a doctoral qualification or equivalent accreditation and standing.
* Extensive experience in midwifery education, with a proven track record of curriculum leadership and program coordination in higher education.
* Demonstrated expertise in curriculum design, quality assurance, accreditation and regulatory compliance within a regulated tertiary environment.
* Strong understanding of AQF requirements, ANMAC accreditation standards and contemporary midwifery practice.
* Proven ability to provide strategic academic leadership across multi campus programs, driving collaboration, consistency and excellence.
* Exceptional leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, mentor and build capability within diverse academic teams.
* Commitment to scholarly teaching, academic governance, professional development and continuous improvement in higher education.
* Demonstrated ability to support and develop emerging academics, fostering teaching excellence and career growth.
* Highly developed organisational skills, with the ability to manage complexity, competing priorities and risk in a dynamic national environment.
