About your role:
The Instructional Designer is responsible for the design and development of quality face-to-face and on-line delivery and assessment resources in the electrotechnology, telecommunications and associated industries, in accordance with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2025.
Your duties and responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain course resources: Design and develop competency based and accredited course and industry specific learning and assessment resources for classroom and online delivery.
* Update and maintain existing resources utilising current organisational continuous improvement processes.
* Adapt existing classroom resources for online delivery and assessment for reinforcement of learning.
* Collaborate with subject matter experts where relevant to complete resource development.
* Ensure all resources are developed on schedule and according to specifications.
* Ensure all resources developed meet the requirements of the relevant Training Package, AQF and Standards for RTOs 2025.
* Research and source relevant reference materials for use in resource development and training delivery.
* Conduct training sessions with relevant campus employees to introduce new and updated training resources and strategies.
* Facilitate and participate in validation events as required.
* Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships: Liaise with campus management to expedite the smooth implementation of new and reviewed resources. Create and maintain networks with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate course development. Identify appropriate and relevant industry events and attend as required.
* Project Administration: Conduct all development and review activities for projects using agreed project management processes and tools. Develop and maintain project plans. Provide regular project updates using approved tools. Maintain all project documentation according to CET policies and processes. Maintain all required electronic documentation and records of course and qualification development.
What you'll need to succeed
* Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or previous qualification)
* WA Unrestricted Electrical Licence
Knowledge and Experience
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in the Electrotechnology field
* Comprehensive knowledge of electrical principles, standards, regulations and electrical licensing requirements.
* Detailed understanding of the Vocational Education and Training Sector and Training Packages.
* Detailed knowledge of the assessment requirements contained in the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2025.
* Demonstrated experience in the development of competency based delivery and assessment resources, preferably within the Electrotechnology sector.
* Demonstrated experience working with blended learning and online platforms (Moodle).
* Demonstrated experience managing projects.
* Proven ability working as part of a team.
* Intermediate to advanced level of computer literacy, including the MS suite of products.
* Previous experience in a similar role.
* Experience working with State and National industry bodies.
* Experience with the electrical contracting industry.
* Working as part of a project team.
