Executive Assistant
Be the backbone of executive leadership in a values‑led rural council.
Tenterfield Shire Council is looking for a full‑time Executive Assistant to the Department of Corporate and Infrastructure Services in Tenterfield, NSW.
This newly created position provides high‑level administrative and executive support to both the Director of Corporate Services and the Director of Infrastructure Services. It will also collaborate with the Executive Assistant & Media, and the Communication and Governance team to deliver executive support across two vital divisions.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑level executive support, including diary and inbox management, records coordination, phone screening and confidential communications.
* Prepare agendas, briefing notes, minutes, travel itineraries and booking arrangements.
* Monitor task actions and resolution tracking across both departments.
* Coordinate meetings and ensure all outcomes and follow‑ups are documented.
* Support policy research, administrative projects and internal documentation.
* Assist with financial administration and procurement within the delegation.
* Provide backup executive support to the General Manager as required.
Qualifications & Experience
* Cert III or IV in Business or Business Administration, or significant years of experience in a high‑level administrative or executive support role.
* Background from sectors such as health, education, legal, or not‑for‑profit where communication, confidentiality and multi‑leader support are core.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
* Strong experience preparing minutes, documents and reports to a professional standard.
* Confidence managing priorities across multiple leaders or departments.
* Excellent formatting, communication and task management skills.
* Australian work rights and a current NSW Class C Driver's Licence.
Bonus Points For
* Familiarity with Local Government systems and InfoCouncil.
* Experience coordinating travel, procurement or executive logistics.
* Previous exposure to infrastructure or corporate service environments.
