The opportunity: Are you a hands‐on leader who thrives in a fast‐paced workshop and field service environment? We are looking for a Rental Service Leading Hand to join our Townsville team, supporting the maintenance, servicing and repair of Komatsu rental and remarketing equipment across the North Queensland region.
This role combines technical expertise with day‐to‐day leadership responsibilities. You'll coordinate workshop and field activities, support preventative maintenance programs, oversee machine quality inspections and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You'll work closely with technicians, coordinators and support staff to keep our rental fleet operating at peak performance while delivering exceptional customer outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate workshop and field activities.
* Support preventative maintenance programs.
* Oversee machine quality inspections and ensure safe and efficient completion of work.
* Collaborate with technicians, coordinators and support staff to maintain fleet performance.
* Mentor and support technicians.
Qualifications
* Cert III in Diesel Fitting, Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent trade qualification.
* Proven experience in a Leading Hand, Senior Technician or workshop coordination role.
* Strong understanding of earthmoving, construction or mining equipment.
* Experience coordinating workshop and field service activities in a fast‐paced environment.
* Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to mentor and support technicians.
* Experience with maintenance planning, estimating systems and parts interpretation software highly regarded.
* Commitment to safety leadership and maintaining high workshop standards.
* Strong computer literacy and experience using Microsoft Office systems.
* Current C Class Driver's License.

Working Conditions
* Roster: Monday to Friday, 38‐hour week. Overtime available.
* Hourly rate: Up to $170 per week leading hand allowance, tool allowance, super, overtime.
* Location: Townsville.
