Director (ICT Services) – Queensland Government – Electoral Commission of Queensland (ECQ)Join to apply for the Director (ICT Services) role at Queensland Government.
This position leads a team of ICT professionals that provide the ECQ and its stakeholders high-quality, responsive ICT services.
The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational guidance in management to the ECQ's ICT Service Desk and Information Security Services teams.
Working with the Director ICT Systems, they will proactively ensure the secure, reliable and efficient operation of all ECQ's information and communication technology infrastructure and services, safeguarding the integrity of electoral processes by maintaining robust and resilient technology environments and protecting sensitive electoral data from evolving cyber threats.
Qualifications & Experience
Demonstrated success in engaging with key stakeholders on ICT operations and information security matters in complex organisations and providing exceptional customer service.
Excellent understanding of ICT operational models with the ability to assess, prioritise and respond to ICT issues, incidents and risks.
Proven ability to lead technical and specialist teams while coaching individuals on stakeholder engagement, technical matters and the delivery of excellent customer service.
Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to consult and collaborate with staff at all levels, demonstrating resilience in difficult situations and acumen in influencing and negotiating to achieve positive outcomes for the organisation.
Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills developed through working with data and reporting in high-paced environments.
Responsibilities
Actively contribute to planning and achievement of strategic and operational priorities as a member of the Digital Technologies Leadership Team.
Manage day-to-day operations, maintenance and optimisation of the ECQ's ICT Service Desk and Information Security functions.
Lead and build a team of specialist IT professionals, providing guidance and direction to improve performance and capability.
Manage and mitigate escalated complex incidents while developing and streamlining processes that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of incident response.
Implement, maintain and continuously improve strategies, processes, systems and tools to provide effective, efficient and responsive first-line ICT support services.
Lead the ongoing development and execution of ECQ's information security strategy.
Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, working collaboratively with key leaders and users.
Establish a no-surprises, continuous improvement priority for the unit that facilitates provision of advice and recommendations to executive stakeholders and relevant governance boards.
Manage allocated operational and project budgets to ensure intended outcomes are delivered while maximising value.
Contribute to team cohesiveness, wellbeing, and capability through participation in establishing a positive environment.
Consistently display the ECQ and Queensland Government values at all levels of the organisation.
