About You
We seek an experienced Health Professional with significant experience in program management or a senior organisational role, particularly in health promotion and working with First Nations communities. The candidate should be comfortable managing people and collaborating with our Learning & Wellbeing team to address local community health needs.
About The Role
The Head of Health and Wellbeing – Central Australia will lead the Family Health and Wellbeing Team, responsible for delivering the Children’s Ground Family Health and Wellbeing Framework, Utnenge, Tyerrtye, Mwerre Atnyenetyeke Iltye Tyerrtye Urrperle–kenhenge, to improve health outcomes.
This role involves supporting local traditional knowledge systems, implementing Western health approaches, developing family health plans, and working collaboratively with partners. The role also includes participating in health promotion activities on country and in community settings.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver the Family Health & Wellbeing Framework to improve health outcomes.
* Develop and monitor population health priorities with community input.
* Manage the health team in a culturally appropriate manner.
* Support integration of health into early childhood curriculum and initiatives.
* Create and implement family health plans.
* Support First Nations people in navigating health systems.
* Oversee infectious disease prevention and response.
* Design and support outreach programs and establish relationships with external providers.
* Lead health promotion activities in community settings.
* Ensure documentation and compliance of operational systems.
* Manage data systems for monitoring and reporting.
* Supervise staff, including recruitment, induction, performance reviews, and mentoring.
* Ensure quality and risk management in all activities.
* Build relationships with key partners and organizations.
