Employment Type: part time. Hours: 0.53. Salary: As per NSW Nursing and Midwives Award. Location: Mercy Health Albury Inpatient Palliative Care Unit. This role is part of Mercy Health, a for‐purpose organisation focused on compassionate, patient‐centered care.
Mercy Health Albury Palliative Care Unit is a 10-bed inpatient service providing holistic multidisciplinary palliative care to Albury, Wodonga and surrounds. The multidisciplinary team includes nursing staff, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social work, dietetics, speech pathology and pastoral care. We provide psychological and spiritual support for people of all ages with life‐limiting illnesses and complex symptom management.
What you'll do / Responsibilities
* Act as a pivotal member of the multidisciplinary team, advocating for the patient and their family in collaboration with medical staff, nursing staff and allied health staff.
* Provide best practice, patient‐centred care with respect and dignity through life‐limiting illness.
* Deliver quality care in line with approved care plans and clinical guidelines.
* Contribute to a collaborative, compassionate team environment and support colleagues as needed.
* Utilise computer systems such as Electronic Medical Records to document and coordinate care.
What you'll bring / Essential requirements
* Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse.
* Experience in palliative care is desirable but not essential.
* Focus on patient‐centred nursing; minimum 2 years post‐graduate nursing experience.
* Excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills; ability to adapt and problem‐solve.
* Compassionate, flexible and positive approach to patient care and management.
* Ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
* Ability to operate computer programs such as Electronic Medical Records.
Additional requirements
* Evidence of or in the process of obtaining: NSW Police Record Check.
* Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
