Kimberley Mineral Sands Pty Ltd (KMS) is a 50/50 joint venture between Sheffield Resources Limited and YGH Australia Investment Pty Ltd (Yansteel). The Thunderbird Mineral Sands Operation (Thunderbird) is located mid-way between Derby and Broome, in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Thunderbird is one of the largest and highest-grade zircon mineral sands deposits in the world and contains valuable heavy minerals including ilmenite, zircon and leucoxene, which are extracted and exported via the Port of Broome.

About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Manager Capital Projects & Non-Process Infrastructure leads the delivery of capital projects and the safe, reliable operation of non-process infrastructure at Thunderbird. The role leads a team across site administration, condition monitoring and IT, and is accountable for fuel, village, travel and site access services. It is a future-focused role, applying continuous improvement and technology to future-proof the business.
Location & Roster Options
We have a strong preference for the successful candidate to reside in the West Kimberley region, withrelocation and living allowances provided. However, for the right candidate, FIFO from Perth will be considered.
West Kimberley Resident Roster:4 days on, 3 days off (Drive in, Drive out)
Perth Resident Roster:8 days on, 6 days off (Fly in, Fly out)
Key Responsibilities
* Capital Projects:Lead the identification, business case, approval and safe delivery of capital projects across site infrastructure and the processing plant, accountable for scope, schedule, cost and risk outcomes.
* Non-Process Infrastructure:Accountable for the safe, reliable and compliant operation of village, water and wastewater, roads, culverts and supporting site facilities, including asset maintenance, renewals and life-cycle planning.
* Contract Management:Contract Owner for site service contracts - village, catering, fuel and facilities -driving performance, compliance and value for money.
* Condition Monitoring:Sponsor the site Condition Monitoring program, ensuring findings drive maintenance and reliability outcomes.
* Site Access, Accommodation & Travel:Accountable for the systems and services that move people on and off site — access, travel, village allocation and onboarding.
* Information Technology:Accountable for on-site IT infrastructure, communications and VHF/UHF radio networks, managing vendor-delivered IT services and deploying emerging technologies to improve operational performance.
About You
* Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or equivalent demonstrated experience
* Current WA C-Class driver's licence
* Minimum 5 years' experience leading capital project delivery in mining, resources or heavy industry, with a proven track record delivering multi-disciplinary projects on scope, schedule and budget from business case through commissioning
* Experience overseeing non-process infrastructure and site services within a broader portfolio
* Strong contract and vendor management experience
* Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder management skills in a remote operating environment
* Future-focused mindset, applying technology and continuous improvement to unlock business value
* Familiarity with WA environmental, dangerous goods or wastewater regulatory frameworks (desired)
