MIGAS Apprentices and Trainees – Port Kennedy WA
In partnership with our host, GPS Plumbing & Gas, we are seeking a Plumbing & Gas Apprentice to join their team in Port Kennedy.
GPS Plumbing & Gas Services delivers high-quality plumbing and gas solutions across both government and private domestic sectors.
This four-year apprenticeship offers hands‐on experience while completing your CPC32420 Certificate III in Plumbing.
As a Plumbing Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced tradespeople to gain practical, on‐the‐job experience in the installation, servicing, and maintenance of plumbing and gas systems. Your work will involve maintenance, repairs, renovations, and new installations across government and private domestic sites.
This role provides the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge required to become a fully qualified plumber and gas fitter.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing and gas systems
* Support kitchen and bathroom renovations, including fixture and fitting installations
* Work on hot water systems, gas heaters, taps, and water fittings
* Diagnose plumbing faults and assist in implementing effective solutions
* Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, company standards, and applicable codes
Hours
Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm. Overtime may be required depending on project demands. You must also be willing to travel and work across different sites as required.

About You
We are seeking someone with a genuine interest in the plumbing trade and a strong willingness to learn, take direction, and develop practical skills through on‐the‐job training.
* Willingness to learn, listen and follow instructions
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* A genuine interest in the plumbing trade
* Enthusiasm to develop skills and grow within the industry
* Previous work experience or related skills (highly advantageous)
* Proficiency with hand and power tools
* A reliable vehicle and valid driver's licence
* Certificate II in Plumbing (or related field) highly advantageous
* Current Construction White Card, or willingness to obtain one
* Ability to pass a medical, drug and alcohol screen, and police check
