About the role
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will lead Barkuma’s strategic direction, culture and operations in alignment with the organisation’s constitution, vision and values. As an influential advocate the CEO will represent Barkuma with integrity across government, industry and community sectors strengthening partnership and driving systemic impact.
Key Priorities
- Providing strategic and values-based leadership that unites and inspires Barkuma’s diverse workforce.
- Ensuring the Board receives clear, timely and strategic advice to inform decision-making and organisational development.
- Maintaining strong financial and operational performance, ensuring sustainable growth and compliance across all regulatory and contractual frameworks.
- Building effective relationships with stakeholders, funders, and the boarder disability sector to enhance Barkuma’s profile and impact.
- Fostering a collaborative, high performing culture that champions inclusion, empowerment and service excellence.
About You
You are a values-driven and authentic leader with experience guiding organisations through growth, change or renewal. You bring strong commercial acumen, deep stakeholder engagement capability and a passion for social impact.
You will demonstrate:
- Proven success in senior executive leadership, ideally within the disability, social services or community sectors
- Strength in governance, finance and strategic planning ensuring accountability and performance
- Exceptional relationship building skills with the ability to influence across all levels
- A leadership style grounded in empathy, collaboration and purpose.
