We are building cutting edge retail digitisation solutions, including robotic inventory counting and digital merchandise tracking. You will lead our Digital Stores team, working on projects that excite you and enable a more seamless shopping experience for customers and staff.
What you'll be doing
Leading the development and implementation of Full Stack Software solutions using Java/Spring Boot.
Leveraging cloud technologies, particularly AWS and its associated services (Kafka, SQS, S3, ECS) to enhance system scalability and performance.
Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
Driving the delivery of software through modern DevOps practices, emphasising CI/CD and automation testing for optimal efficiency and reliability.
Overseeing the development of new tools with React/Nest or similar TypeScript frameworks.
Upholding clean code principles through the coding and unit testing of new software products.
Contributing to the maintenance of existing products and the development of new features on existing applications.
Showcasing strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex challenges.
Playing a key role in requirements gathering and technical design, contributing to the overall success of the development process.
What you'll need to be successful
Demonstrated experience leading technical teams, supporting engineers and promoting growth and development of team members.
Experience operating in Agile environments with an eye on continuous improvement and innovation.
Proven experience in Full Stack Software development in Java environments.
Highly developed stakeholder engagement with the ability to influence product owners and enable large-scale, distributed rollout of devices and telephony services.
Track record of delivering software through modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD and automation testing.
Outstanding collaboration and communication skills.
Exposure to cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
Proficiency in API development using REST.
Coding and unit testing of new software products using clean code principles.
Experience in maintaining existing products and developing new features on existing applications.
Demonstrated experience with an RDBMS, preferably PostgreSQL, and SQL queries.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience in NestJS, NextJS & Prisma would be great, but not essential.
Active contribution to requirements gathering and technical design.
Experience working in retail or FMCG supporting a range of retail technologies is considered highly advantageous.
