Job Title:
Senior Clinical Specialist
We are seeking a Senior Clinical Specialist to join our team. As a clinical leader, you will be responsible for providing expert medical care and support to our patients.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be a highly skilled and experienced Paediatrician who can work effectively in a culturally safe environment. They will provide specialist clinical advice and support to our healthcare team and contribute to the development of medical education programs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide culturally safe and high-quality clinical services to patients from diverse backgrounds.
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve improved patient outcomes.
* Develop and implement effective strategies to improve the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
* Contribute to the development of medical education programs that promote cultural safety and competence.
* Stay up-to-date with best practice in child health and paediatrics, and apply this knowledge to improve patient care.
Requirements:
* MBBS or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia plus FRACP or equivalent acceptable to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Paediatric and Child Health Division and registrable as a General Paediatrics specialist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Internationally trained candidates may require an acceptable Comparability Assessment undertaken by the appropriate Australian Specialist Medical College as part of the application process.
* Relevant qualification/s and registration must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
* Strong clinical and community experience in working collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
* Training and/or experience in providing culturally safe care/practice for First Nations clients is highly desirable.
* While not mandatory, experience in Community and Development Paediatrics would be well regarded.
