Deen Welfare Trust is a registered charitable organization based in Wellington, dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities through welfare, advocacy, and reintegration services. We work with individuals and families facing challenges related to immigration, human rights, mental health, and social justice.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Volunteer Legal Advisor to assist our clients and community members with legal guidance in areas such as:
- Human rights and discrimination
- Immigration and refugee support
- Family law and tenancy issues
- General legal advice and referrals
This is a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people who may not otherwise have access to legal support.
Who We're Looking For
- Qualified lawyer or legal graduate (with or without a current practicing certificate)
- Experience or interest in human rights, immigration, or community law
- Compassionate, culturally aware, and committed to social justice
- Able to volunteer a few hours per month or on an ad hoc basis (flexible schedule)
