Role Overview
We are looking for a commercially minded Divisional Financial Controller for our Engineering, Trades and Labour Division. This fast‐paced, highly visible role is instrumental to the group's success. The Divisional Financial Controller will lead the accounting and payroll functions across a variety of corporate entities. Reporting to the Group CFO, you will oversee financial performance, compliance, reporting and business‐partnering activities while leading and mentoring a high‐performing finance team—a dynamic opportunity for someone who balances strategic thinking with operational delivery.
Responsibilities
* Lead all divisional finance operations, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis
* Prepare month‐end reports for the Divisional CEO and Group CFO, including KPIs, dashboards and analysis
* Execute key monthly cycle lodgments and reporting (e.g., BAS, Payroll, Tax, Superannuation, Workers Compensation)
* Prepare divisional cash‐flow forecasts for submission to Group Finance/Treasury
* Improve the finance operating model to generate efficiencies and cost improvements
* Oversee the weekly payroll process for on‐hire employees
* Partner with operational leaders to improve business performance and profitability
* Identify process‐improvement opportunities and support system enhancements
Requirements
* Minimum 5 years of experience as a Financial Accountant, Controller, or Company Accountant
* Qualified Accountant (CA or CPA)
* Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership role
* Strong influencing skills to achieve outcomes
