Platform Engineer (Identity & Technical Services)

The role
As a Platform Engineer, you will provide technical guidance and implement infrastructure solutions. This position is central to transforming, modernising, and supporting key workloads across our diverse environments. You will contribute to developing platform roadmaps, implementing changes to enhance infrastructure performance, ensuring audit and security compliance, and supporting ongoing improvement through system patching and upgrades.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to infrastructure platforms to meet current and future organisational needs.
* Provide responsive and specialist technical support to business teams and stakeholders as a Subject Matter Expert.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance infrastructure platform's performance, reliability, scalability, efficiency, and security.
* Participate in the cloud migration process, and evaluate/recommend new technologies to improve platform performance and reduce costs.
* Collaborate with the DevOps team to automate deployment and maintenance processes, ensuring system availability and reliability.
* Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting tools for proactive issue identification and resolution.
* Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of Infrastructure Technology knowledge base and procedures.
* Contribute to building capability in junior staff through knowledge sharing, active training, coaching, and mentoring.
* Act as a Level 3 escalation and contact point for critical and intricate problems requiring in-depth knowledge.
* Maintain awareness, understanding, and compliance with Company policies and procedures, including mandatory training.
* Undertake studies of new technologies and innovations to navigate infrastructure complexities and drive innovation.
* Develop platform roadmaps and plan/implement changes to enhance infrastructure performance and meet audit/security requirements.
* Participate in system patching and upgrades with a focus on continuous improvement.
* Share knowledge across technology infrastructure teams on changes, upgrades, and benefits.
Experience and skills
What Experience You\'ll Bring: We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer with expertise in identity and infrastructure. You will bring hands-on experience and a collaborative approach.
Essential Experience And Skills
* Demonstrable solid understanding and practical experience of relevant system administration, operations, support, and solutions implementation.
* Ability to articulate technical solutions to business stakeholders and technical teams.
* Advanced hands-on system administration, problem-solving, with at least 2 years of experience and knowledge of one or more of the following technologies:
* Okta Identity Engine
* CyberArk PVWA
* Microsoft AD DS
* Knowledge of systems security, administration practices, standards, and policies.
* Systems automation, scheduling, and scripting.
* Proficiency with Windows Server or Linux Server.
* Experience with AWS Infrastructure
* Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Desirable Experience and Skills
* One or more industry-recognised technical certifications, including:
* AWS Associate Certifications
* OKTA Professional
* CyberArk Sentry
* CompTIA
* CISSP
* Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator
* Experience with password management systems.
* Experience with enterprise monitoring suites.
* Understanding and experience with Infrastructure Architecture principles.
* Knowledge of an agile framework.
* Experience working with the ServiceNow ecosystem.
* Familiarity with CPS234 or ISO27002 (or similar) frameworks.
