The opportunity
Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent, the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor Workshop role provides leadership to ensure the PLS fleet of mobile equipment is maintained in a safe and mechanically sound condition, delivering maximum up‐time for the Mining Group and protecting PLS interests.
This permanent full‐time role operates on an 8/6 7/7 (days & nights) FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region.
Key responsibilities
* Ensure that works being performed is done in a safe manner, and in line with company OH&S standards.
* Co‐ordinate maintenance teams to carry out all related maintenance activities to ensure the equipment is always maintained to a high standard.
* Communicate with the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent on day‐to‐day activities, work order control and cost management.
* Liaise with Mining to ensure that equipment is maintained, and that Mining are aware of potential repairs / downtime.
* Ensure relevant documentation is completed & filed as required by maintenance & planning groups.
* Ensure that company vehicles and tooling are maintained and that both company and contractor vehicles and tooling comply with mine site regulations.
* Ensure that work management is carried out to maximise value and minimise unplanned events.
* Work with the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent to lead and guide strategy and management to achieve budgeted costs and change periods.
* Ensure that area inductions are current and help maintain the integrity of PLS competency records.
* Draft Safe Work Method Statements for PLS HSEQ Committee review, approval and implementation across the business.
* Demonstrate PLS safety & environmental policies and maintain an understanding of the principles.
* Support procedures and work practices aimed at preventing accidents or injuries.
About you
* Statutory S26 Supervisor qualified.
* Strong leadership skills and experience.
* Excellent interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills.
* Minimum 5 years heavy workshop and field maintenance experience in a supervisory capacity.
* Able to identify lead indicators for safety performance and recommend appropriate actions.
* Strong knowledge and experience of effective workshop standards, processes and techniques.
* Has proven strong collaborative and liaison skills and has good understanding of operations and equipment usage.
* Can provide clarity and direction that supports the effective performance of repair and management processes that relate to heavy mobile equipment maintenance.
* Set and implement clear standards of integrity, consistently demonstrate behaviours supporting organisational values and address inappropriate behaviour or actions.
* Relevant nationally recognised Trade Qualification.
* Certificate IV Frontline Management.
* High Risk Work licences: Forklift, EWP, Working at Heights.
* High Risk Crane (CV) and Basic Rigging (RB) licences; preferred but not essential.
* Current Driver's Licence (Minimum LR Class).
