Job Description
Located in the heart of Broome, The Broome Closet is an award-recognised small cocktail bar known for premium cocktails, elevated service, and a unique hospitality experience that blends tropical Kimberley charm with sophisticated small-bar culture. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Bar Supervisor to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a hands‐on leadership role suited to a hospitality professional with strong cocktail, service and team supervision experience who thrives in a fast‐paced premium venue environment.
About the Role
Reporting to the Venue Manager/Duty Manager, the Bar Supervisor will assist in the day‐to‐day operation of the venue while ensuring exceptional customer service, smooth bar operations, and high standards of presentation and compliance. This role requires a strong focus on customer engagement, team supervision, stock control, cash handling, and premium beverage service.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise, support and train bar attendants and junior hospitality staff
* Ensure high standards of customer service and venue presentation are maintained
* Prepare and serve cocktails, mixed drinks, wine, beer and non‐alcoholic beverages
* Assist with staff rostering and shift coordination
* Assist management with end‐of‐shift reconciliation and transaction balancing
* Operate POS systems and handle cash and electronic payments accurately
* Coordinate stock control, stocktakes and replenishment of bar inventory
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of bar service areas
* Assist with reservations, guest seating and general floor service duties
* Promote venue products, events and beverage offerings to customers
* Ensure compliance with responsible service of alcohol requirements and venue procedures
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience in a bar supervisory or senior bar role within a licensed hospitality venue
* Strong cocktail knowledge and beverage service skills
* Experience supervising and training hospitality staff
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast‐paced environment
* Strong cash handling and reconciliation experience
* Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification
* Approved Manager Qualification certification
* Ability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
* A professional presentation and positive attitude
* Formal hospitality qualifications will be highly regarded
