Casual Hourly Rates:
Hourly rate: $42.76 plus superannuation
PLUS different shift times will reward additional loading:
Early afternoon shifts @10% extra
Mid afternoon shifts @15% extra
Weekend Penalty rates:
Saturday @50% loading
Sunday @75% loading
Job Responsibilities:
* Create innovative, modern cuisine for our patients and staff
* In conjunction with the Head Chef, train kitchen staff on all new menus and specials
* Prepare meals and food for patients as per national menu guide
* Assist the Head Chef to manage food costs, stock control and management of staff
* Lead the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef
* Flexible hours available
* Maintain hygiene, OH&S and overall kitchen cleanliness at all times
* Strong understanding of HACCP Food Safety Program
* Effective communication with management and facility staff
* Lead, supervise, coach and develop team members
Requirements:
* Appropriate chef qualifications
* Proven understanding of specific health, dietary and texture modification food preparation requirements required in a hospital catering environment
* Experience in large volume cookery, cold larder and bulk cookery with ability to time manage and remain calm in high pressure environment
* Sound knowledge and understanding of HACCP regulations
* Safe Food Handling Certificate (mandatory)
* Available for shifts Monday to Thursday (weekend work also available) with availability of a minimum of 2-3 shifts per week with flexibility to work various shifts commencing as early as 5am with final shift ending no later than 7pm
* Two years relevant experience
* Experience in hospital or aged care environment preferred

If you are successful, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant experience against the current agreement, with a salary range of $40.76 per hour (base rate), with the opportunity to earn up to $59.86 per hour (including casual loading and penalty rates).
