Role Highlights: Be part of a dynamic supply chain team that are seeking to complete a short-term assignment for the re‑evaluation of a wide range of SKUs. Work in a hybrid team-oriented and autonomous environment at an internationally recognised company.
Role Overview: This role needs to establish and develop sourcing strategies that sit outside of business as usual functions and prepares the supply chain function to operate in this future state. They will assess the cost/benefit use of multiple products and will aim to make the entire process more cost-efficient and optimized.
Working alongside a team of supply chain and procurement analysts, this role will seek to gain as much knowledge as possible about the product line they will be procuring for, before executing on cost saving initiatives. The procurement analyst will strategize in regards to the organisation relationship to different vendors and suppliers, re‑negotiating contracts and deals with them.
Daily, this role will look at each SKU and re‑assess its uses and costs alongside the supply chain team, using them as a source of information.
Weekly, this person will look to re‑negotiate terms with existing suppliers as well as find new ones who can provide the same products at a better price.
Monthly, this role will report to the Head of Procurement with an update on their sourcing activities.
Responsibilities:
- The preparation and management of quotes, tenders, RFP's securing goods and services exactly as specified and that deliver the best overall commercial value.
- Strategic sourcing; negotiation of pricing and other commercial arrangements with suppliers.
- Provide analysis and actionable insights from company data to support the procurement team to ensure optimal inventory availability and control.
- Assist with implementing a consistent approach for procurement while ensuring an ongoing standards, KPI's, purchasing policies and guidelines.
- Establish logistics arrangements with suppliers.
- Actively drive cost reductions and increase value for money for Lancer while championing opportunities for improvement.
Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience in procurement and supply chain management. They will have the ability to work autonomously but also know how to draw essential information out of their colleagues.
