Northern Tasmanian Pathology Service (NTPS) provides Pathology services to Launceston General Hospital and the Northern regions of Tasmania. We are the only public pathology service operating in North Tasmania. NTPS aims to deliver a high‐quality service to general practitioners, medical specialists and private hospitals, providing patients with no out‐of‐pocket expenses for Medicare eligible tests. The team at NTPS comprises a large multidisciplinary group of scientists, technicians, non‐technical staff and Pathologists.
Role
Assist with specimen processing, interpret results, perform assigned tasks, and communicate routinely with clinicians and other clinical staff.
You will need
* Ability to apply scientific principles in the work environment.
* Appropriate level of professional experience and a range of medical laboratory skills.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team in an environment subject to changing priorities.
Appointment Details
Fixed term, full‐time shift worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 April 2027. Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. This selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full‐time, part‐time and casual vacancies for twelve months from the date of publication.
Salary
$73,834 to $111,364 per annum, plus a 12% superannuation contribution. Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022.

Eligibility
Essential criteria:
* Tertiary qualification/program of study in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Science or Applied Science, or equivalent suitable to the position from a recognised institution.
* Eligibility for membership with a relevant professional body such as Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists, Australasian Association for Clinical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine, The Australian Society for Microbiology, Human Genetics Society of Australasia or the Australian Society of Cytology.
* If no relevant professional body, essential qualification must be met.
Desirable criteria:
* Membership/Fellowship awarded by a recognised professional body.
