About the Role

The Division of Cancer, Cardiology, and Specialty Medicine is actively seeking a Chemotherapy Administration Officer to support cancer care treatment bookings and associated administration tasks in Cancer Services.

This role will work collaboratively with the nursing staff in the Chemotherapy Day Unit to support patient care and access to cancer care treatment across Sunshine and Sunbury Hospital and Oncology Hospital in the Home. The role will support the Cancer Services team more broadly to ensure patient care is delivered in an efficient and effective manner.

As required this role will support facilitating patient care and organisational requirements that support cancer care treatment bookings. This may include but not be limited to, referral management, appointment scheduling, patient and carer communication, Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS) billing, management of wait lists and other administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

- Booking treatment and procedure appointments
- Managing bookings to maximise chair utilisation
- Communication with consumers about appointments and changes to appointment bookings
